Long-Term Exchange
Usually, it lasts one academic year (during the student's junior year), during which the student lives with multiple families in the host country and is required to attend school.
We are accepting applications for the 2026/2027 school year.
Due April 4th 2025 - 5pm
The objectives of the Rotary Youth Exchange program include:
• Instilling international understanding and goodwill in students
• Creating positive change by empowering youth
• Making lasting connections for host clubs, host families, communities, and the students involved
Estimated Outbound Timeline Process
This provides a concise overview of the tasks and activities required for outbound students.
Freshman year:
The first part of the Application Due April 4th 2025
Have/Keep 3.5 GPA
Interview with the Rotary Exchange committee
We will designate one outbound Rotary exchange student as a top pick; however, in the event that the specified requirements are not met during the sophomore year, we will also consider selecting one to two alternative students.
Sophomore year:
Formal application to the Rotary International
Attend/Present to the General Club
October - District Application Seminar
Connect with your school counselor on class requirements.
Host incoming exchange student
Junior year:
August take off for your host country
Report monthly to the club on activities, experiences, and updates.
Senior year:
Present to the Club on experiences
Help recruit for upcoming program
Application Requirements
McMinnville High School Freshmen w/ GPA’s 3.5
Multiple Interviews with Youth Exchange committee members
Top candidates are selected by the end of Freshman year
Work with School counselor on class graduation credits

Attend Club meetings & district events
day & Weekend long trainings
Eastern Oregon trip with inbound Youth Exchange students
